Quebec students have it easy.

Quebec students are paying $2000 for tuition per year while Ontario students pays $ 5000 per year. They are already having for cheap and now they seem to want it for free. They keep saying that education is human right and it should be free but nowadays everything is controlled by private corporations. Universities are private corporations and they can't expect to get everything for free. It seems that the quebec government can't put up a fight and show that they already have it for cheap. If they are going to accept all demands of students just because of a strike then sooner or later, their government will crash down. Quebec people need to stop expecting everything for free and start looking around them. In all the other provinces, we all have student loans and we try to get part-time jobs to pay for it. Its not easy but we make sacrifice and manage to pay all our debts in the end. The government should be more serious and not give up so easily unless they want students to soon start doing useless strikes to just get what they want. If they take a stand and fight off the strikes, soon students will the power to control the government.

Authorities are abusing the use of tasers.

A man was tasered to death by the authority in Vancouver airport last month. In the video, we can see the man was pleading and acting defensively while our national force looked like a gang of thugs beating the poor innocent guy who couldn't even speak English to death. They said that he was sweating, agitated and acting weird but that is still not a good reason to beat him to death. There were other ways of dealing with someone like that. Maybe he was lost or anxious because he was in a new country where he can't even ask for help as he doesn't speak English. They could have tried to calm him down and then find someone who could translate for them. Instead they just rushed him down and tasered him to death. We are surpassingly living in an educated society and yet we see those barbaric behaviors that make us think if humans have really evolved over the years. Innocent people are dying everyday because of useless wars where bombs are being dropped on people as if they were animals. Is killing the only solution??? The man was screaming horrible sounds of pain while he was being tasered and beaten to death like an animal. Over the past years, authorities have been abusing the use of tasers and unless they start thinking before reacting, more innocent people are going to die a brutal death.

female stars have gone nuts and we like to laugh at them.

Some people might wonder why there are so many stories on female stars and not much on the male stars. Well, first because the target of magazines such as star magazine targets women. Women usually like to read about other women and feel good about themselves. Also, the female stars of today have lost their minds and are doing the dumbest and craziest things. Lindsay Lohan and Britney spears are going to pubs naked while Paris Hilton is making porn videos. Most of the other female stars are either doing drugs or something crazy somewhere. Male don't usually do this much. You won't hear about a male star going to the pub naked. Since most of these female stars have gone crazy, people like to read about them so that they can get a good laugh. Some of the things these female celebrities do are so unimaginable and weird that its funny. I guess they have so much money that they don't really know what to do with it. Even though most of them say they hate all the stories about them, they actually love it. You will never see or read a long article of Britney winning a music award, you are most likely to read a long article about her stealing her baby or getting drunk and beating her baby up. Good or bad, these gossips and stories is what made those people famous. If you ask someone who’s Paris Hilton, he will probably tell you that she is the one in the porn video. Most of the time you will hear the bad ones because people like it when all the famous crazy celebrities fall on their face as it brings them back to earth like the rest of us. As we learned in communication, people tend to remember the negative things more than the good ones and I think the female celebrity’s stories prove this very well.

Apple revolutionized the music industry with Itunes

Apple has changed the lives of thousands of people with the creation of iTunes. This helped artists as well as the customers. People are able to download the songs they like for a reasonable price. Now, instead of waiting in lines to buy one cd in which you probably like only couple of songs for 20 bucks, you can sit comfortably at home and download the ones you prefer. Of course, the big corporations like NBC won't like it because now they are no longer able to monopolize the music industry and this has resulted in a decrease in their market power. The iTunes is easily accessible, practical and cheaper than buying an actual cd and plus it also helps reduce illegal downloading of music. The other advantage with iTunes is that you can find all your favourite artists online and you know that it will never run out of copies. Before iTunes came along, the music industries were completely dominating the market and they were charging exorbitant amounts for cds and all the money went mostly to the music industries. As everyone likes to gain more and more, it's only normal that the music corporations won't like losing money to Apple and they will try all they can to regain their domination. Their profits went down by a lot when iTunes came out as iTunes were selling songs for 99c. The big corporations were obliged to reduce price in order to compete with Apple but with all their extra costs like paying distributors and all, they were unable to compete with this technological revolution. Nowadays, most people have an iPod and everyone downloads from iTunes. I believe that we now live in a society run by technology and with the new generation, iTunes will definitely prosper whereas the stores selling cds will eventually close down as no one will buy a cd for 20$ when they can buy songs for 99c. As Adam Smith the father of economics once said, every man will do what's best for himself, and thus it only makes sense that everyone will rather pay 99c than 20$.

China is doing what any other country would do (most likely a better job )

China is doing what it can to gain from Africa but they are not just taking, they are also giving many things to Africa. By investing in Africa, this is helping them build relations in trading with Africa and get money by selling their own goods to African people. It’s obvious that the African companies won't like it as they are losing all their profits to Chinese companies who can afford to produce and sell at a lower cost. By doing this, china is not helping African countries but rather helping themselves filling their pockets. But then again, what would other countries have done?? They would have done the exact same thing or probably worst. They all would want to gain some kind of advantage in trading and by investing money, they would be able to do so. China needs Africa's natural resource to keep increasing its economic growth and Africa need china's aid financially. Now there are around 800 Chinese companies in Africa, and china mainly imports oil. That's the thing they are mostly interested and that's why the US is alarmed as they are also interested in importing oil from there. China has already invested in the Angolian oil sector but Angola doesn't allow any single country or company to dominate its oil. Since China couldn't control the Angolian oil, they entered the Sudan market and now control Sudanese Oil sector. African governments are welcoming the aid from china, it’s only the African companies that are not happy as they have to compete with small Chinese businesses. Overall, China is doing probably better than what any other would have done and if the African governments are happy about it, I think that china is doing a good job.

People are already attached to their gadgets, so why not marriage?

I agree with David Levy when he says Humans could marry robots. They are already in love with their gadgets and I’m pretty sure most of the time they are playing with it. Most husbands probably spend most of their time playing with their gadgets than with their wife. Not everyone will marry or have sex with a robot but there will be certain people that will do it. Robots are starting to look more human-like and for some people that have relationships problems, this might be the solution to their problem. Humans are also curious creatures and I'm sure that as soon as some people try it and say it was great, some people will go try it just to see how it is. People keep getting divorce because they realize that they don't love their partner anymore or they are too different and what not but if they were to marry a robot, all these things could be fixed. Also, some people have difficult personalities or are too shy to commit but with this revolutionary creation, they could make their partner the way they like it. Just like gay marriage was weird at first, this will be as well but with time, people will get use to it. This might help reduce rape, control the criminals’ sexual urges and reduce prostitution. It might prove to be a great invention that will help humanity in many ways or it can be terrible but only time will tell.

MMP the new system for the new generation

As we know, the percentage of people voting has been decreasing over the years and this is mainly because the majority of tbe young adults don't vote. MMP was a new system that would have benefit all of us in the future. MMP would have provided more accurate results and made use of everyone's vote. MMP is the representation of democracy and it will make elections fairer as the candidate with the most votes might still get a chance even if his party loses. It would have created an assoiation between politicians from different party and make them work together more productively. Also, this system was developed by individuals not politicians. The new MMP system would definitely have been better for our society and help our future generation as well.If the old system is good then why is it that the amount of people voting decreases every time? The only reason the MMP didn't get chosen was because people weren't inform properly about it. The current government didn't advertise it properly because they were scared they might lose because of that.Since people didn't know the system very well, they didn't want to take risks and voted for the old system. As we all know, peple don't usually like change so if they are happy with the old system, they will stick with it even though the new system might be better. The MMP would have been a better system for the new generation and now we will have to wait another four years before maybe adopting this new and improved
system.

The importance of Marriage

Marriage is very important to our society as it provides stability, growth and structure. The reason people are not getting married nowadays is because they are selfish. Then again it is human nature to satisfy only their wants and needs. Marriage is about uniting and becoming one with the other person and it also mean sharing responsibilities. Every individual just wants to enjoy their freedom, focus on their careers and enjoy their life. Another reason is that people have such high expectations when it comes to marriage that it never happens. People watch so many movies these days that they believe that when they get married, their life will become perfect and everything will be fine. That is not the case, but marriage is a tradition that has been practiced for ages. Saying that marriage is not important is like saying our society is not important and that needs to be changed. Not getting married has resulted in a decline in our demographics and this will affect our society in the future. As it said in the video, children brought up in a family are more likely to do better in life and not have behavioral or emotional problems. Studies have also shown that women who are married are more likely to be happier and healthier than single women. It has been proven that men and women who are married are better financially and also that they both become more responsible and caring when they get children. It is clear that marriage is an important aspect of our society and if it continues to decline, we will be living in an unwholesome society.

The Asia-Pacific Partnership........More effective and efficient

By joining the Asia-Pacific partnership, Canada will become more effective in their fight to reduce pollution. The six partner countries represent about half of the world's economy and with their help, Canada will now be able to develop and share technologies that will reduce pollution. With those six powerful countries combining their resources together, it will only be a matter of time before we have a better and cleaner environment. The Kyoto-protocol has been there for a while but it hasn't been very effective and I think that it's now time to try something else. Another positive aspect of it is that Canada will be able to reduce pollution without harming its economy. Environment is very important but we need to know how to balance ourselves. We need to use strategies that are efficient and not spend all our money on one issue. Therefore, by joining the Asia-Pacific partnership, Canada will be able to help the environment without harming the country's economy.

HPV vaccine effective yet complicated

These videos talk about the HPV vaccine and how effective it is. For me, there is no doubt that young girls should take it but i still believe that the parents should be the ones who decide whether or not to have their daughters vaccinated.Let's face it, sooner or later these girls will become sexually active. It has even been statistically proven that most girls between the age of 14-19 are sexually active. Even though some religious groups might not accept this vaccine, being sexually active is not the only way of getting HPV.There are many other ways of getting the disease such as touching and having more than one partner. You might even get it after your wedding because you don't know if your partner has it or not. Evidence has even shown that some people have it in them at very young age and they don't even know how. Religious groups have also said that this vaccine could act as free pass for sex. Give me a break, surely if you educate the girls about the vaccine, they will understand that there are still risks involve. These girls are not stupid, I know that teenagers of nowadays do many stupid things but will they really go have sex with anyone just because they are protected against HPV. Therefore, in regard to the vaccine, i believe that it should be given to young girls but only if their parents accept. The vaccine should not become mandatory and the canadian government should not have control over it like the government of texas.

Hello world

Hey everyone,
This is my first blog so i'm not sure what to say. Communication seems to be a good class where we will develop a lot of skills that will help us in our daily lives. Communication is very important and not communicating with people for awhile can cause serious illness and it has been proven by social scientists.Nowadays,we see all kinds of communication everywhere. Even in sports, we see players from different countries play together and communicate with each other. They manage to transmit their messages through signs and gestures. For ex; in european soccer which is actually called football in all the other countries, we see players that come from different places play and somehow manage to communicate with each other. When we see people from different cultures who speak different languages communicate or when an animal tries to communicate to a human, that's the beauty of communication.
